I had just finished reading the NYT piece on Harold Koh's "volte-face" when I saw that Benjamn Wittes's new post at Lawfare captured my initial thought: "One explanation [the article] doesn’t consider [for explaining Koh's shift] is the possibility that Koh is a lawyer with a client, and that the role of the academic and the role of the government lawyer differ.
